In game one, the Huskies raced out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Mike Austin (Dallastown/NW Shoals JC) and Kevin Ward (Clifton Heights/Monsignor Bonner) hit back-to-back doubles, and Tyler Gansner (Lampeter-Strasburg/UNC Charlotte) hit a one-out single to drive in Austin. From there, though, Shippensburg’s bats would heat up, as the Red Raiders would score five runs in the fourth inning to take a 7-5 lead, and would add another three in the fifth inning to put the game out of reach.

After Shippensburg responded to take a 3-2 lead midway through the third, Donofry and Ward both scored in the bottom of the third to make the score 4-3. Bloomsburg would break the game open in the fourth when Donofry and Corey Eisenhart (York/Dover/Hagerstown CC) scored on a wild throw to make the score 6-3, followed by a Kramer single that drove in Ward and Austin, giving the Huskies an 8-3 lead. Shippensburg would add a run in the bottom of the fourth, but Mitch Troy (Elkton, MD/Cecil College) and Chris Carter (Bartonsville/Pocono Mountain East) allowed just one hit over the final three innings to secure the victory.
